Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis

This book, Prince Caspian, is the fourth book in The Chronicles of Narnia. In this book, Peter Edmund, Susan and Lucy all are on their way back to boarding school when they get transported to an unknown ruin. After exploring the ruin, the believe it to be a part of Narnia, a land in which they went to the year previously. They question whether it is actually Narnia because it has turned to a ruin, but they realize that time runs differently in this world. While sitting by a fire, they see two guards trying to drown a dwarf, and Susan uses he bow and saves the dwarf. The dwarf then joins their party. The dwarf then explains this is Narnia and they have been called upon by the horn. Peter and Edmund were kings and Susan and Lucy were queens of Narnia thousands of years ago and the horn was given to Susan in case she needed help. When the horn was blown they were transported here. The horn was blown because since their time, Telmarines took over Narnia and the true Narnians, also known as the "Talking Beasts" were fighting back. The leader of the Telmarines son, Caspian, disagreed with his fathers ideals and fled in order to escape his death. He later discovers the talking beasts and decides to befriend them. They consider Caspian their king and are in a war with the Telmarines. In dire conditions, the horn was blown and the kings and queens come. The dwarf tells them and they are here to help the cause. They get lost along the way and eventually reach their base. They are struggling but High King Peter challenges the Telmarine leader to a one-on-one match to end the fighting.

If your father and you did not see eye to eye and disagreed on beliefs, would you leave without knowing what is beyond the castle walls or would you stay in a place that you are familiar with and accept that you do not agree?

In the situation of the High King Peter, would you try to end the battle quickly like he tries even though he will lose his life if he loses or would you try to use strategy to overcome your opponent even though your chances are slim?

For the first question, i personally would stay with my family. I do not have trust in my survival skills and would not leave if i was not sure what was out there.

For the second question, i would probably try to do the one-on-one. Less lives would be lost and if they lost, we would not lose anything because they had nothing.

I would probably leave since I do not agree with what he says. I would want to live my own life and not have to follow all his rules.

1. I would leave the castle if I could do something that would make a difference in what I believed in. I would bring peace to the people in the castle by leaving. This would be the best for everyone.

2. I would fight one on one for what I believed in because I already left the castle and I have to prove myself.

1) If me and my father did not agree on beliefs I would never leave. I would just accept that we are different and we believe in different things. I would stay in a place that I am familiar with and stay with my family

I would stay in a place that I know and try to persuade my father to agree with my beliefs. I would also try to understand why he believed what he did and perhaps learn from it.

1. I believe that i would leave for an unfamiliar place. I believe it is better to be happy in unfamiliar lands than sad at home.

2. I believe that you should do everything in your power to try and create positive change so I believe that I would fight even though the odds were against me.

I agree with Kaitlyn. I would try and end the battle as quickly as possible so there would be less lives lost.

I would stay within the castle, because it is safer, and one person leaving will not convince others to change.
Iw ould have risked my life, because if the chances of victory were slim, it would not be likely to survive anyway

1. I would stay with my family in a place where I am familiar and just accept the fact that I do not agree with my father. I would be too scared to go beyond the castle walls because I would not want to end up in a place that would put me in a bad situation.

2. No one really knows what they will do for sure until the time comes but I think I would risk my life and go to war. I would be fighting for something I believe in and less people would die and risk their lives if I do.

1. I think that it is a hard decision to leave all you ever know for unknown place. I would first try to talk to my father and if we couldn't come to an understanding, and this was a belief I whole heartily supported, I would leave.

2. If I left the castle I might as well fight, because the reason I must truly believe in if I left my home. I would fight as long as it took for my belief to be fulfilled. It is not possible to say how many lives could be lost in any part of a war.

I would probably obey my father even if I did not agree, that's just the way I am.

I would probably use strategy to try and win the fight. Even though it would lead to more deaths, I think I would use my strengths to my advantage, which would be strategy. But in Peter's case, (I've read all the books), he seems more straightforward and uses that to his advantage, and tries to overcome the opposing leader in a 1-on-1, as he is more of a "brute strength" person.

1. I would probably stay with my family. Not for any reason besides the fact that that is just the way I am.

2. I would try to use strategy to beat them, in hopes that we could prevail with a small amount of lives lost.

1. I would like to think I would leave because i wouldn't want to be upset but I don't trust my survival skills so I would try to sway my father's opinion and make him see reason even with the consequences.

2. I would try to use logic and strategy even if the odds were against me. People could always try to trick their opponents as well.

1.I would stay in a place that I know and live with the disagreement. Leaving could lead to death because of unfamialiarity with the land and there may be unknown dangers in the wild.

2.I would use strategy because the way to victory may be to outsmart them.
