Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter was orphaned at a young age when both of his parents died in a tragic car accident. He was forced to live with his atrocious aunt and uncle, leading a miserable life, outshined by his cousin Dudley. One day after mysterious letters begin coming, a giant comes to tell Harry that he is a wizard, just like his parents. To begin his wizard education, Harry goes to a magical school called Hogwarts where he meets his two best friends. Harry soon learns that he is famous in the wizard world for his scar that was left after his parents sacrificed their lives for him. Harry soon has to stop evil at Hogwarts when he discovers a powerful artifact called the sorcerers stone is about to be stolen by the man who killed his parents, Lord Voldemort. In the end Harry defeats Voldemort thwarting his plans.....for now.
1.If you discovered that you had been lied to your entire life, how would you feel and what would you do?
2. If you found out that you could be a wizard, would you? Keep in mind you would have to leave the normal world behind.

1. I think that if I found out my whole life was a lie I would be upset. I think it would take some getting used to, but depending on the situation I may be willing to change.

2. I think that it would be hard to leave friends and family behind. However, Harry really didn't have anyone, so why not be a wizard (who wouldn't want to be one?)

1. I would probably do the same thing Harry did. I'd run off somewhere just to get away from those crazy people

2. Yes I would. Really the only thing our world has going for it compared to the wizard world is more advanced technology. And I think that even that is a negative because technology just complicates our lives making us less happy as we, as the human race, move farther and farther away from simplicity that makes life beneficial...I also wanna fly a broomstick!

P.S. Phillipe, Tu as lu? (BS!)

1.) If I had been lied to my whole life, I would be very upset and never quick to trust anyone. I would always be very cautious and suspicious of everyone because I would be scared to trust them.

1) I agree with Ashlyn. I would definately not be able to trust anyone, atleast until I got to know them well. I think If it was really that bad I would find an escape like Harry.

1. I agree I would not be able to trust anyone. I would be extremely confused and lost and also very mad that no one told me the truth in the first place.
2. I would absolutely become a wizard. Especially if I had Harry's life where it seemed like anything would be better then what he had.

1. I agree with everyone, I would hate to find out like that. I'd be relieved, though, if the truth was going to make my life better, like it did for Harry.
2. Of course I would! In Harry's case, the normal world had nothing for him. I guess I personally would have a lot to leave behind, but it's not like I would just disappear forever and never visit home.

1. I don't know would I'd do. I probably wouldn't trust anyone for a long time. I don't think I would've believed Hagrid if he told me I was a wizard.
2. I think I would. I would still like to see my family and friends a lot. I think being a wizard would be fun.

1.) Along with feeling betrayed, I would also want to start discovering the truth.

2.) Although I am used to the normal world and would be nervous about leaving it, I think I would still want to be a wizard.

2. I would most definitely be a wizard! If I was living in an environment like the one Harry lived in I would leave the real world behind and become a wizard.

1. I think I would be in a state of disbelief for a long time but I would eventually get used to it and live my life differently. However it would take some time getting used to the new way of life.
2. This depends upon the situation of if I had seen the Harry Potter Movie. If I had not yet seen the movie I would dive right into the magic and try to fulfill 7 years. If I had already seen the movie I would merely take one or two years of the school and drop out. I would rid myself of the complications of the magic world but still pick up a few neat tricks along the way.

1.) If I learned that I had been lied to my entire life, I would be extremely upset. However, depending on how big the lie was, I would be able to accept things accordingly.

I would go insane and kick sum (butt). And for sure

1. I think that I would be very angry and upset, and find it hard to trust people again after making such a big discovery. I would pay more attention to whether or not people were honest.
2. I definitely would, especially if I were Harry and had a bad life in the Muggle World. Like Brandon said, there aren't really any benefits to staying, and the wizarding world would be incredible.
