A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

Landon Carter is very popular at his school. He and some of his friends decide to pull a prank on a kid at school which puts the kid in the hospital and paralyzed him. He was punished by having to do community service and perform in the school play. He met Jamie Sullivan and asked her to help him with learning his lines for the play. They spent a lot of time together and eventually started to have feelings for each other. Jamie had a secret that she knew she had to tell Landon. She told him that she had cancer and the medicine didn't work anymore. Landon was crushed and didn't know what to do but he started spending all his time with Jamie. Eventually he asked her to marry him so they could spend the rest of their time together and that was what she really wanted. Later on she died and Landon went to medical school because Jamie wanted him to be successful in life. He still went to see Jamie's father to talk and stay in contact.

1. If you were in love and you knew the person you were in love with was dying, would you marry them even though you know they don't have much time left and know that's what they wanted?

2. Do you think it is possible for someone to change so quickly like Landon did? He went from being someone that didn't care what they did to other people to someone that loved one person and would do anything for them.

1. oh yes absolutely. they dont have alot of life left so i think thats the right thing to do. its not like he didnt love her, so its not some huge sacrifice on his part. its what she wanted to fullfil the rest of her life and he helped. he was happy with her and definitely got something from the experience of knowing her.

2. yes. one person can make all the difference in how people view things and how they act. one person can change alot if they feel that stongly for them forrrrsuurreeeee.

2) No, I don't think it is possible for a person to change that fast. I think if humans were to change it would take awhile.

1) you i would marry them because if we were in love even if there was only a little time left for him to life i would want to be married to that person for what little time he had left.

1. Yes I would still marry them because I know thats what they wanted and especially if they were dying I would do whatever they wanted to make them happy.
2. I personally do not think some one can change that fast, in the movie its great but that's not realistic. I think it would take longer.

1.) I think it would be important to honor the wishes of someone you love, especially if it were one of their dying wishes. If you truly loved that person, than there should be no trouble in marryint that person/

2.) I think it is possible for someone to change as quickly as he did, especially if that person had legitimate feelings for the person he/she was changing for.

1) I would marry that person because that's what they wanted and I would want to do anything in my power to make them as happy as possible in the little time they have left.
2) I think it is because a person decides their life on the choices they make and if they see that the choices they are making are not correct then they can change as fast as they want to.
